Innovation and competitiveness

Switzerland is 1st in WIPO's Global Innovation Index 2025, for the fifteenth year running, and 1st in IMD's 2025 competitiveness ranking.

Banking and wealth management

Assets under management in Swiss banks reached CHF 9,284 billion in 2024 (+10.6%), of which CHF 4,225.3 billion belong to foreign clients. Switzerland is the world's leading cross-border wealth management centre (Swiss Bankers Association).

Diplomacy

International Geneva counts 40 international organisations, 39 other institutions and bodies, about 750 NGOs, the permanent missions of 185 UN member states, and about 32,000 people work there (FDFA).
